Now that you have purchased the glass-lined reactor you want, don’t forget that regular testing and maintenance are of importance, which can reduce machine faults and prolong its service life. Below are some of the approaches of maintenance.
- Check that all the valves on the glass-lined reactor are in good working condition and can be used. Repair the faulty part immediately.
- Check for any loose bolts or fasteners on the flanges and machine base of the reactor. Make sure the safety shield is intact.
- Make sure the agitating shaft is clean and intact. As for the vertical shaft connected the nut, make sure the shaft is rotating clockwise.
- Examine accessories like the agitator and the coiler inside the vessel regularly. Tighten the loose bolts and replace the parts when needed.
- Listen for any abnormal vibrations or noises inside the glass-lined reactor.
- Regularly inspect the gearbox of the reactor for any oil leakage. Check if the shaft seal is undamaged and ensure that the oil pump is applied with oil. Examine the level and the quality change of the oil in the gearbox and see whether there is oil in the mechanical seal oil box. Supplement or replace the machine oil when it’s needed.
- Check if the safety valve, explosion-proof membrane, pressure gauge, thermometer, and other safety devices are functioning properly. Verify that the safety valve and pressure gauge have been calibrated and sealed properly, and ensure that the red line on the pressure gauge is correctly marked. Check for any internal leakage in the explosion-proof membrane.
- Check if there are any cracks, deformations, corrosion, leaks, etc. on the body of the glass-lined reactor. Also, ensure that the insulation, paint, etc. are intact and there is no peeling or burning.
- Check if the sound of the reducer and motor is normal and feel the temperature of various parts such as the reducer, motor, and bearing of the machine base while running: the temperature should generally not be higher than 40℃, and the maximum temperature should not exceed 60℃.
- Make sure the machine is always clean inside without any oil contamination.
